You may have noticed that there are two Meade drivers listed in the Telescope Chooser: Show the telescope’s position with a cross-hair cursor on the map. The Autostar I cannot be unparked. In the latter state, all motors are off and the scope will not respond to commands from the handbox or the serial line. That does not work better, it’s the same.

The buttons for continouus movement in apt will now work fine. To install a new driver, click on a link to download it, and save it in the “Drivers” subdirectory of the SkyMap Pro installation directory. Note that this driver requires SkyMap Pro 6 or later. The driver file is all that is required if you simply want to use the driver – the source code may be of interest to programmers. The driver has a simple user interface allowing basic control of the telescope.
The focuser driver conforms to the initial and only release at this time of the ASCOM focuser specification. This driver provides combined telescope, focuser, and dome interfaces each of which may be used by separate programs.
Computer control of “modern” NexStar’s appears to work correctly. Again thank you for your answers. The scope is always tracking when connected. In combination with blind solve this driver is a cool thing.
